We were asked to develop a comprehensive support program for people living with rheumatoid arthritis and were starting treatment with a first-in-class new biologic therapy.
With an overarching goal of helping patients foster self-care skills, our program was customisable for each person. From a selection of support options determined by each individual’s profile, patients chose those that most appealed to them. These could include sessions with dedicated life coaches who followed a CBT methodology.
Uptake in the program was extremely high from day one, and continues to be 6 years later. Since then, as the therapy has gained further indications, the program has grown and diversified to offer appropriate support for patients, whatever their condition.
